we can customize the view of the Menus / Submenus that each role will have.
to do this we select the role from the dropdown that we want to 'trim the menus'

Next, we put on or take off the check marks on the menus / submenus that we want the users with this role to see / not see. (marked means they can see it)

we click on Save
When the user logs in, they will only see the menus / submenus that we have marked

Note: it is important that the menus / submenus that each user can see are aligned with the permissions associated with their role.
