Reservation types play a fundamental role in the operation of the center.

What is a reservation type and what is it used for

Reservation types are categories that we can assign to a reservation. Each reservation type has its own set of characteristics (color, price, duration...) so that when we assign a reservation a reservation type, it will adopt all the characteristics of the type. Reservation types have functionalities such as:

• Differentiate the purpose for which the reservation will be used. Visually in the occupation we can see by the color of the reservations of what type it is. In addition, through reports, you can check how many reservations are intended for the school, rankings, private classes, games I sign up for, or any type of reservation.

• Apply a special price to the reservation: reservation types can be used to charge a different price than the default price without using the reservation type.

Create a new reservation type

To create a new reservation type, we will go to the Reservations/ Reservation Types menu and click on the New button.

Description: name of the reservation type

Colors: the colors of the text and background fields in the cells are customizable for each reservation type. This serves to be able to identify them quickly in the occupation.

Product: is the service that sells that reservation type. If no product is configured in that field, the price of the reservation when choosing this reservation type will be the one configured by default in the schedules.

Duration: It is specified in minutes. If duration is put in this field, when creating a reservation with that reservation type, the default duration of the reservation will be the one specified in this field and not the one that comes out by default. If Internet reservations work through reservation types, this duration will be with which the reservation is created.

Sport: Associating the reservation type with a specific sport will make that reservation type only available to be used in that sport. If no sport is selected, the reservation type can be used in any sport configured by the center.

Automatic extras: if the center has automatic extras that are added to the reservation (light, commission for online reservation, etc.) here we will configure if we want to include the extra in the price when using this reservation type in addition to the cost configured for the reservation type.

Available Internet: In case our club has online reservation by reservation type, here we will configure if we want this reservation type to be available for online reservation or only available in administration.

Once we have completed all this data, we will click on Save.

Assign a product to a reservation type

The first thing to check when you want to assign a product to a reservation type is that the product is created with the appropriate price. This check can be done from the Settings/ Services menu.

If you do not have the product, it must be created from the Settings/ Services menu, new. You can see step by step how to create a product in the article How to configure reservation prices.

Once the product is created or verified that it is configured:

1.  We will go to the Reservations/ Reservation Types menu.

2. Search for the reservation type to which you want to assign the product and click on the reference.

3. Click on the Edit button.

4. In the product field, click on the drop-down and select from the list the product to be assigned.

5. Finally, Click on Save.
